Question 1

What is CoParent Navigator?

Accepted Answer

CoParent Navigator is a digital platform that helps separated and divorcing parents create comprehensive parenting plans, evaluate existing plans for gaps, and prepare for mediation. It's also used by mediators and family law attorneys as a tool for their clients.

Question 2

Does CoParent Navigator provide legal advice?

Accepted Answer

No. CoParent Navigator is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or attorney-client relationships. It is a structured planning tool. We always recommend consulting with a licensed family law attorney before finalizing any custody agreement.

Question 3

Who is CoParent Navigator designed for?

Accepted Answer

CoParent Navigator is built for three audiences: parents going through separation or divorce who need to create a parenting plan, mediators who want their clients better prepared for sessions, and family law attorneys who want clients to do structured homework between consultations.

Question 4

Does my co-parent need to be involved or invited?

Accepted Answer

No — and this is one of the most common misunderstandings about CoParent Navigator. The platform is built for YOUR preparation: your co-parent never needs to join, be invited, or even know you're using it. Coming prepared with a plan doesn't mean building it together. It means you know what a strong agreement needs to cover, you're clear on your non-negotiables, you understand what you can reasonably expect under your state's guidelines, and you've thought through coverage most parents miss until it's too late. Inviting your co-parent (or a lawyer or mediator) is always available later — and always your choice.

Question 5

What is a parenting plan?

Accepted Answer

A parenting plan is a written agreement between separated or divorced parents that outlines how they will share parenting responsibilities. It typically covers custody schedules, holiday arrangements, decision-making authority, communication rules, and plans for handling future changes.

Question 6

How does the parenting plan evaluator work?

Accepted Answer

The evaluator analyzes your parenting plan against a comprehensive checklist of topics that strong agreements typically cover. It identifies missing sections, flags vague language that could lead to disputes, and provides specific recommendations for strengthening your plan.

Question 7

Can both parents use the platform together?

Accepted Answer

Only if you both want to — it's never required. Most parents start (and many finish) entirely on their own. If you do choose to collaborate, both parents can work independently and share drafts with each other, which keeps the process structured and reduces miscommunication.

Question 8

Is my information private and secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We take data privacy seriously. Your personal information and plan details are encrypted and stored securely. We do not share your data with third parties. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details.

Question 9

Which should I choose, Basic or Premium?

Accepted Answer

If you need a complete parenting plan and you're done, choose Basic. If your co-parent will collaborate in the app, you want mediation preparation, or you expect the plan to change as your kids grow, Premium costs less than two months of what most families spend on one hour of legal drafting, for a full year, everyone you invite included.

Question 10

Is the Basic plan lower quality?

Accepted Answer

No, and this is a core promise. Basic and Premium build the exact same plan: every clause, every protection, regardless of price or how amicable your situation is. Premium adds ongoing tools, never plan quality.

Question 11

Does it cost more to add my co-parent, lawyer, or mediator?

Accepted Answer

No. Charging parents separately punishes cooperation, so if you choose to bring your co-parent, lawyer, or mediator onto the plan, they join your Premium at no extra cost, collaborating on the plan should never cost your family twice. Adding anyone is always your choice.

Question 12

What if I don't want my co-parent in the app?

Accepted Answer

That's completely fine, and common in higher-conflict situations. You're never required to add your co-parent. You can build, export, and manage everything on your own, and if you'd like a professional involved instead, you can invite your lawyer or mediator to the case. You decide who has access.

Question 13

What happens if I cancel Premium?

Accepted Answer

Your exported plans are yours forever. You keep viewing access to your workspace; editing, re-exporting, and the AI/mediation/collaboration tools pause until you return.

Question 14

What's your guarantee?

Accepted Answer

Premium and every professional plan come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no forms to fight through. With Basic, a one-time plan you download and keep, you're fully refundable anytime before you finalize and export it, so you only pay when it's right for you.

Question 15

Can I use CoParent Navigator if I already have a parenting plan?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The parenting plan evaluator is specifically designed to analyze existing plans. You can check your current agreement for gaps, missing sections, or vague language, and get recommendations for strengthening it.

Question 16

Is CoParent Navigator available in my state?

Accepted Answer

CoParent Navigator is a planning and preparation tool, not a legal service. It works for parents in any U.S. state. However, parenting plan requirements vary by state, so you should always consult with a local family law attorney to ensure your plan meets your state's legal requirements.
